This week’s ILP went a little more smooth than last week. I think that means I’m starting to get the hang of it! I went back and added a couple of short descriptions so that in 20 years I can look back and remember what was happening. Here’s what that looks like.
I’m still looking for a sticker to put on the first page to fill the empty space above the photos.
The first set of pages I made this week, I’ve been looking forward to making since I decided I was going to make a scrapbook. They are of the first time I held my new nephew. It was easily one of the best moments of my life! I started crying making after it was done and I looked at it. It really solidified my decision to do this project. Not only am I learning a craft, but I’m learning a lot about myself as well.
It’s still early in my learning process, but I think these might end up being my favorite pages, even if I get better at putting them together. There is so much meaning and joy in these photos.
Next I made a page from our time mini golfing. All of the photos were vertical, so it was hard to figure out how to put them on the page without it looking crowded or odd. I also wanted to make a page of the photos we took while in the car or out and about – but I only had 2 and they were both of just my niece and me. I wasn’t really sure I should still make the page, but decided to. With only two photos though, there was a lot of empty space. I have a little tool that cuts out hearts, so I cut out a bunch and put them on the page, to make it a little more girly.
After the pages before, I felt like these were a little bit of a let down, but that’s okay! I definitely wanted to include all of the photos, and as long as they’re there, that’s all that matters.
I have now used 17 photos on 8 pages. I have about 90 photos left. At this rate I’m going to need almost 30 more pages! It looks like I will have to start sorting through photos and deciding which ones I’m going to use and which ones I can go without. I may need your help – so check back for next week’s blog!
